Getting Started & Minimum System Requirements
Please use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your web browser to access the platform and ensure that your system also meets the following minimum system requirements:
- Windows 10 or later
- Microsoft Word 2010 or later
- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
Anchor Pages
The anchor pages appear at the top of Unity® letting you quickly navigate to key features from anywhere in the platform.
Matters
The Matters Anchor Page is our central hub for viewing, searching and creating matters. From here, you can open new matters, apply filters to find specific transactions, produce and share documents, sync matters with Unity Accounting, and export matter list .CSV reports.
Opportunities
The Opportunities Anchor Page is a free workspace to track potential clients or deals before they become full matters. From here, you can capture early details and either convert to a matter when the work proceeds or close the opportunity without incurring matter charges.
Contacts
The Contacts Anchor Page lets you work with two sources of information: the Global Database, maintained and regularly verified by the Adjudication Team, and your firm’s private contact database. From here, you can maintain accurate records for clients, professionals, and other key parties, while updating your firm’s private contacts as needed.
UnityC
The UnityC Anchor Page is our communication centre for shared documents, client intake forms (CIRF) and referrals. From here, you can Review new items, link them directly to matters, or open an opportunity from a referral.
Accounting
Unity® Accounting is an all-in-one trust and general ledger module designed for Canadian legal professionals with law society compliance. From here you can export Statement of Accounts data in real time, capture all fees and disbursements, and simplify financial reporting.
Planning
The Planning Anchor Page houses Events, Day At A Glance, and Staff Availability View in one place. From here, you can manage appointments, check who is free, and download .ICS files to add to external calendars.
Integrations
The Integrations Waffle/Grid Icon is your hub for mortgage and title-insurance tools. From here, you can:
Check for new mortgage instructions
Review accepted mortgage instructions—both assigned and unassigned
Open the Unity Lender Centre
Launch title-insurance tools
Click on the link to access FCT LLC Payout Services
Messages
The Messages Page keeps all Unity® correspondence in one place, with helpful filters and the ability to open the corresponding matter directly from the message.
Anchor Pages
User ID Drop-Down Menu
Located at the top-right of Unity® the User ID drop-down provides a single place to manage your personal settings and support options.
My Credentials
From here, you can change and confirm your password, update your email address and User ID, and manage your trusted phone numbers.
Personal Details
From here, you can access your global contact information and edit your private details, including your Unity Messaging signature block.
Appearance
From here, you can change your login landing page (Day At A Glance, Events, or Matters), and adjust fonts, sidebar size, colour, and weight.
Unity System Status
From here, you can open https://unity.status.io for up-to-date service information and subscribe to email notifications about scheduled maintenance and incidents.
Install UnityDrive
From here, you can install UnityDrive, the free companion application for offline access to matter documents, work without an internet connection and sync changes when you reconnect.
Customer Support
From here, you can view the Unity® Support Team's contact information and by clicking on the Contact Support button, you can submit a support request online.
