This article contains release notes for Unity® Accounting, launching on 11 June 2026.
FEATURES
1.1 SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS
This update focuses on enhancing the security of the application and introduces new stronger password requirements for customers utilising the cloud database option.
For cloud customers only, when logging into Unity® Accounting for the first time on the new version, users will be required to update their password. The new password must:
- Be at least 8 characters long
- Have at least one lower and one upper case character
- Have at least one number
- Have at least one special character
Not be the same as your previous password
✏️NOTE:
If cloud users forget their new password in the future, there is a new forgot password option available on the login screen, which will allow the password to be reset.
1.2 IMPROVED ERROR LOGGING
This update introduces better error logging functionality which will allow the Unity® Accounting application to log the details of any application errors to the Windows Event Viewer and will allow our team to better diagnose and troubleshoot issues that might arise with the system in the future.
As part of the update, the system will add a Unity® Accounting Event Log to the user’s Windows installation (UnityAccountingEventLog.exe). Users will need local Administrator rights to allow this.
1.3 DATABASE UPDATE IMPROVEMENTS
This update also fixes an issue with the database update process that was affecting some users after the 5.5.4.0 release.
