Manitoba Personal Property Registrations

Field Changes to Registration Details

• Garage Keepers Lien registrations now include fields to capture:
  • Confirmation of the debtor’s acknowledgement of debt.
  • The date possession was surrendered.
    • If the surrendered date is more than 15 days prior, additional fields will be available for Court Order Date, File Number, and PDF upload of the Court Order.

1. Discharge & Renewal

• Selection of either The Personal Property Security Act or The Garage Keepers Act as the registration type.
• Additional fields are available to support confirmation of the correct registration, including name fields and checkbox selection.

2. Amendment

• Additional fields are available to support confirmation of the correct registration, including name fields and checkbox selection.

Field Changes to Parties and Collateral

1. Debtor

• Street address entry has changed from a single address block to separate Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 fields.
• Individual Debtor entries now support individuals with only one name.
• Business Debtor entries now include an optional Organization ID field.

2. Secured Party

• Secured Party entries now include a Business or Individual selection.
• Street address entry has changed from a single address block to separate Address Line 1 and Address Line 2 fields.
• Individual Secured Party entries now support individuals with only one name.
• Email address is now required.
• Fax number has been removed.
• Business Secured Party entries now include the following new fields:
  • Contact Person Name
  • Contact Person Title
  • Organization ID

3. Registering Party

• Registering Party information is not required and has been removed.

4. Collateral

• Serial Collateral has been updated:
  • The Description field has been removed.
  • Make and Model fields have been added.
• General Collateral has been updated to support selection of one of the following collateral types:
  • The security interest is taken in all the debtor’s present and after-acquired personal property.
  • The security interest is taken in all the debtor’s present and after-acquired personal property, with exceptions.
  • General Collateral.
• General Collateral is limited to 4,000 characters.

Confirmation Statements After Successful Registration

• eCore will provide a Print Confirmation and the confirmation statement is emailed to the Secured Party by the Manitoba registry.
