In this article we look at adding an Associated Professional such as an Accountant or Auditor within Unity Entity Management.
Other Professionals are individuals or organizations that have a professional relationship with an entity, such as service providers, financial institutions, auditors, or opposing counsel. Recording these connections in Unity Entity Management supports thorough record-keeping and provides easy access to relevant contact and role details.
Associated professionals can be added from the People section. From here, you're going to go ahead and click on +New.
Then add in required information. You want to link it to All Groups that they may be associated with if they represent multiple entities, in which case you can add them to the default group. You can add in the address for this particular person, that it is their business address or head office address, and any other details required.
You can come back for the effective date if required, or you can enter it at the time that they are appointed and create that entry.
From here, it'll bring you into the details of what this person's information will look like.
On the tab on the left, you will see Associations. To create a new association to link this accountant to my entity, in the top right hand corner, click on +New, and select Other Professional. From here, you're going to link them to the specific entity. Select the entity and scroll down further to check if their details are correct.
This is where their role will come into play. Their role will always be reflected as other professionals, so that it is not confused with the assigned professional, which is the lawyer.
Underneath the title is where you are going to select whether they are the accountant, auditor, banker, etc.
You can also add additional custom titles if you wish, and this is where that effective date can be placed and any notes.
Once you create this connection, you'll see that information is there and then you can complete the creation.
You will then see the person is linked directly to that entity.
By going to Dashboard > Recently Viewed > Clicking on Entity > Relationships> Associations, you can look at their associations to see what and who is associated with them.
You will then be able to view the Associations and the Affiliations. So, Associations will be entities, and Affiliations will be anybody else that is connected.
