This article explains how to verify contacts using Treefort as a Provider, which is similar to the existing FCT Provider.
Purpose and Objective
Dye & Durham introduced eIDV in Unity® Practice Management in December 2025. We are now expanding the existing IDV functionality to allow law firms to electronically verify their own contacts using the new provider Treefort.

Initiating and Submitting Treefort eIDV
Details
EIDV can be initiated from:
- Contact
- Matter
Minimum required information:
- First name
- Last name
- Phone number
Once a user is on you are on the eIDV screen, clicking submit will initiate the request.

In this contact view, users are able to:
- Request eIDV verification for the contact
- View, track current and past eIDV submissions and details
Submitting eIDV
- Users will need to select the necessary information
- Treefort users do not need to have any specific accounts with Treefort. All Unity® users will have access to Treefort
Request eIDV Charges
Confirmation
- Users can submit requests for multiple contacts
- Each contact is treated as a separate ID verification with its own associated cost
- Users are notified before submitting to confirm the charges

- The available actions depend on the status of each submission

- Edit the request to update the first name, last name, or email
- Cancel a request
- Refresh the page to check for status updates

- For completed IDV requests, the user can access summary reports and documents related to the ID verification
- These are Provider specific Documents
Request eIDV from a Matter
Reports with Matters
- User can initiate an IDV request for clients on the matter
- Users can click on the eIDV chip on the contact record to see the status of the eIDV
eIDV and Unity-C
Reports within IDV
- Each submitted contact will appear in UnityC
- The UnityC area will display the updated status for each contact
- Users are notified within the app through an increment on the UnityC navigation icon. (Just like other notification)
- Users can open the contact for more details via the burger menu
Billing and Debit Notice
Transaction Report
- Customers will see the $25 per IDV reflected on the debt notice
- This is can be found in the client id verification report when after the IDV has passed a final/billable state
