In this article, we look at how to Merge Entity Records into a single profile in Unity® Entity Management.
To do this, we use the Combine tool to clean up multiple entries of the same entity in the database. This helps maintain clean, accurate, and reliable corporate records.
Combining entities removes a redundant (retiring) record and merges its data, including Interests and Addresses, into a single, surviving record. This helps prevent fragmentation and keeps entity data centralized and reliable.
To do this:
- Navigate to the Entities section from the main menu on the left.
- Ensure the retiring Entity record is set to Not Managed before combining.
- Use the Search bar in the top-right corner to locate duplicate Entity records. Enter a common part of the Entity name to find similar records.
- Select the checkbox beside each record on the left.
- Click Actions in the top-right corner of the list.
- Select Combine from the dropdown menu.
Complete the Combine Setup
- Confirm that:
- The retiring record will be removed.
- The surviving will inherit all Interests (Principal Affiliations and Securities) and Addresses.
- Click Combine.
