This article describes how to configure the Task Manager Settings within Automated Civil Litigation (ACL).
There are a number of settings that will assist the firm with setting up their preference with the Task Manager.
To view the settings:
- Click Menu
Select Settings, and then click System Settings
Synchronize Tasks with Outlook
There are three settings:
- None - will disable any sync to Outlook for the entire firm
- One Way to Outlook - will enable the sync to Outlook (ACL to Outlook)
- Two Way to Outlook - will enable the sync to Outlook (ACL to Outlook, and Outlook to ACL).

Synchronize Tasks with Outlook for Non-Active Directory Users: There are two settings Yes or No. The availability of this setting depends on the firm’s internal system setup.
Synchronize Tasks with Exchange Server (Requires Exchange Synchronizer Service): There are two settings Yes or No. The availability of this setting depends on the firm’s internal system setup.
Default Outlook Synchronization type for new Tasks: There are two settings, Task or Appointments.
Task Display Format for Outlook Items: There are twelve options to choose from:

Number of days to show upcoming tasks for: This is a typeable field (any number can be set depending on the firm's preference).

Default time for Outlook Reminders: default is set to 09:00, but can be adjusted as per the firm’s preference.
Allow E-mail Reminders to be Configured: There are two settings Yes or No. The availability of this setting depends on the firm’s internal system setup.
Automatically assign the Primary Lawyer of a file to new tasks: There are two settings Yes or No. To be set as per the firm’s preference.
Default Reminders for Deadline Tasks (e.g.. "2 days, 1 week"): default is set to Null, but can be adjusted as per the firm’s preference.
Enable Task Security: There are two settings Yes or No. Caution when using this setting as it will not allow users to complete or modify tasks; only ACL Admins can perform modify/complete tasks.
Enable Task Notifications List on files: This is a moot setting only applies to ACL Version 5.0.128.0
Enable Task Set sub-division: There are two settings Yes or No. To be set as per the firm’s preference, if using Categories.
Maximum Task Attachment size (in MB): default is set to 10, but can be adjusted as per the firm’s preference. Only available in ACL Version 5.1.157.0 and newer [All attachments associated with a task will be included in the export]
