This article provides the necessary steps on how to effectively search for entity information using the Entity Search Bar.

Search for Entities

Optimize your workflow by efficiently locating entity records using the Global Search bar or the Entity Search tool. This article explains how to use Unity® Entity Management’s search functionality to find entity information across a range of naming conventions, search fields, and record details.

There are two options available for searching: Global Search and Entity Search.

Use Global Search

1. Locate the Global Search bar at the top of any Unity Entity Management page
2. Enter the Entity Name, Secondary Equivalent Name, Registration Number, or a portion of the name into the search field
3. Review the results in the drop-down menu and select the desired Entity

Use Entity Search

1. Navigate to the Entities tab on the left-hand side of the application
2. Click the Search bar in the top-right corner of the All Entities screen
3. Enter your search criteria into the search bar

Searchable Entity Fields

The Unity Entity Management searches across the following fields:

• Entity Name
• Business Name (Registration)
• Previous Names
• Tax ID Number
• Registration Number (Home Jurisdiction)
• Minute Book Number
• Client Number
• Document File Number

Filter by Search Option

You can refine your search results by using the Select Search Options drop-down menu.

Business Name

1. Click the Select Search Options drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the search bar
2. Select Business Name from the list
3. Enter the specific Business Name into the search bar

Results will then be filtered to display Entities where the Registration Type is a Business Name and the Business Name matches your search criteria.

Tags

1. Click the Select Search Options drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the search bar
2. Select Tags from the list
3. Enter the Tag name into the search bar

Results will populate all Entities associated with that specific Tag.
